ShipCarte Claims Overview

Accidents such as loss/damage can happen while in transit, it is always important to know what your options are before and after if such an occurrence is to occur. Most carriers offer a standard insurance rate of $2 / lb. This means if your shipment is worth $10,000 but is 100lbs, you would simply get compensated at $200.

ShipCarte offers the most competitive insurance rates so you can insure your high valued product with the most cost-effective option. We want to make sure that as a member of the ShipCarte family, your product is always in good hands with our team.

File Your Claim

To avoid any delays, be sure to let our team know within 10 days upon freight being delivered that a claim will need to be filed. Once the claim has been filed and the carrier is aware, make sure to keep all product and packaging in your possession. The carrier may want to come out and inspect the damage in person, and having everything ready for them keeps it smooth for you. Our claims department will continue to stay in contact with the carrier to get continuous updates on the status of your claim. Please allow 30-45 days for the processing of your claim.

What Is A Bill Of Lading

Delivery Process

Whenever receiving a freight shipment, always be sure to double check the pallets as they have arrived. Check for any damages, missing or short pieces, and anything could seem out of the ordinary. It is imperative that it is noted on the P.O.D. (proof of delivery) or the carrier will not accept the claim when filed. Just let the driver know that you would like to check the freight before they leave and if anything is noticed, take some pictures for the record.
